The fairer sex may have reached the moon today and are almost walking shoulder to shoulder with macho men , but strangely enough, when it comes to self-defence, many ladies either live under the impression that “nothing bad” will happen to them, or depend on the male members of their family to “take care” of them. While it’s nice to give the men an opportunity to protect us it is beneficial to the Fairer sex to have some means to protect themselves. This is a really regressive way of thinking and can be really damaging for women. Wives today, need to learn how to protect themselves from piranhas even in the most unlikely of places.
Why you should consider self-defence
This is precisely the reason why women must be adept at self-defense and consider the statistics. In America alone, 1 out of every four women may have been the victim of some unthinkable crime! Sickening isn’t it? Well, if you are lady reading this, now is the time to do something about it! You are ascertained against ill health or any other disaster, right? Then why not obtain martial arts as insurance for your physical self! It is not only for your own interest but for the sake of your families to make it a point to learn something like karate, jujitsu or taekwondo.

It happens frequently on our College Campuses. Women of all age must b diligent in avoiding this type of a situation. If anything they contribute towards building your self-trust and is also great forms of workout that help you become fit and healthy.
Begin with a preliminary trend
If you are not too sure about taking up a full trend in self-defence at the start, you can always try something like kickboxing to build your confidence. Later you can move on to marital arts. Kickboxing or even kettle ball can serve as a great way to work up to a self-defence class. You will build your stamina and increase your muscle strength. When you are ready, find a really great Martial Arts instructor, one that you have really checked into and go for it!
There isn’t any martial art that can be classified as “easy” or “difficult”, there are only different levels. You may want to do some of your own study on the internet. Check with your instructor for his opinion. Decide what area you comfortable. You need not attain the highest level in which Instructor practices, but be certain to learn enough and practice enough, to implement your karate moves, if God forbid, a situation may present itself to you.
Once you have learned some figure of self-defence, you will find that it has brought about a positive change in your life. If you are still living in that protective cocoon, it is necessary to step out and learn to protect yourself.
